Questions about Return to Football in Ontario? Check out some of the Frequently Asked Questions.
June 26th, 2020 | 1:00PM
The Ontario Football Alliance is happy to shed some light on some frequently asked questions we have received for Return to Football. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Is the Ontario Football Alliance putting out a 'Return to Football' plan?
Yes - the Ontario Football Alliance 'Return to Football' plan is approaching the final stages of approval. A webpage has also been set up as a hub for all 'Return to Football' information. Click here, to view the page. Information provided in the 'Return to Football' document is updated regularly as the COVID-19 pandemic is a fluid situation and can change daily.
Why are other provinces further ahead then Ontario & back playing?
Each Provincial Government is in charge of how quickly they reopen, including sport. Some provinces that are seeing lower COVID-19 case numbers have progressed further in the reopen phases.
Who decides when we can get back on the field?
The Ontario Football Alliance must follow the reopen plans from the Provincial Government and the Ministry of Health. They have the final say on when outdoor team sport competition is allowed.
What level is Outdoor Team Sport in Ontario currently in?
Based on Football Canada's 'Return to Football' Guidelines, Ontario is currently in Level 2, depending on your region. Again, depending on your region, training in groups no larger than 10 with physical distancing is allowed. This is the same for all outdoor team sports in Ontario, not just Football.
Do we have to progress through each level set out by Football Canada?
No - as seen in other provinces, we follow the reopen plans of the Provincial Government. We use the Football Canada 'Return to Football' Guidelines on programming options based on restrictions set out by the Provincial Government.
When will we get back on the field?
We want back out on the field as much as you do. Once the Provincial Government approves outdoor team sport competition, the Ontario Football Alliance will provide members with next steps. The Provincial Government has not provided dates on when each reopen phase will occur.
