On June 18th, 2020, Football Canada released Version 1 of ‘Return to Football’. The ‘Return to Football’ resource has been created to help the football community during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ‘Return to Football’ document released by Football Canada is intended to provide guidelines and resources to inform decision making processes for local and provincial football organizations on how to return to safe football activities. To review the current ‘Return to Football’ guideline from Football Canada, follow the link below:
As the Ontario Football Alliance, it is now our role to take this guideline created by Football Canada and adapt it to the current programming offered in Ontario.
This document is intended as a guideline for Ontario Football Alliance members to return to football in accordance with the Government of Ontario, Ontario Public Health, and Football Canada. Information provided in this document is updated regularly as the COVID-19 pandemic is a fluid situation and can change daily. Members are encouraged to use this document to begin their return to football and can find appropriate recommendations based on the re-open phases.
In this document, the Ontario Football Alliance will outline COVID-19 information as it pertains specifically to Ontario, information on Social Distancing in Sport, Return to Football Guidelines and where Ontario currently sits. As the Provincial Government continues to open the province, the Ontario Football Alliance will update it’s membership as we progress to through each level.
NOTE: Municipality and regions are opening at different stages. It is important to remember that the Provincial Government and Ministry of Health have the final say on what opens and when.
